The custom of admiring the moon in the Mid Autumn Festival was very popular in Tang Dynasty of China. Until today, it is still an essential activity for families to gather around and enjoy the scenery of the beautiful moon at night on the festival.
Having moon cakes is the necessary customs across China to celebrate the Festival. The word "moon cake" originated from the Song Dynasty, and it was a Dim sum food at the time.
